The Regina Folk Festival Preview Podcast Series is a set of glimpses, snippets and teasers to get you acquainted with the performers of this year’s fantastic lineup that spans immense aesthetic and geographical space and coming to a glorious culmination August 6 – 8 this summer in Regina’s beautiful downtown Victoria Park. This podcast series is hosted by our podcast king, Ben Valiaho and sponsored by Regina’s community radio station CJTR.

Join us Friday and Saturday nights at the German Club for the infamous FESTIVAL AFTER PARTIES. The lineup will have you drinking beer, eating pretzels and pulling on your leaderhosen into the wee hours of the morn. Take the DOUBLE DECKER BUS over for $2, leaving from Victoria Ave. & Scarth St. every 15 minutes between midnight & 3:30 AM! Jump on board! Or look for the midnight processional parade heading over at midnight!

Some workshops that are sure to be highlights of the weekend are:

• Saturday, August 7th from 3:00pm - 3:45pm  we're planning a dreamy workshop entitled "We kiss like thieves: Broken Heart Songs with Ohbijou (hosts), Caracol, Leeroy Stagger"

•  A Saturday afternoon DJ set from DJ Dolores at 1:00pm - 1:45pm followed by a delicious blend of musical and cultural traditions in "Métissage: A Cultural Weave with Buffy Sainte-Marie (host), Ghostkeeper, Yves Lambert, Bette & Wallet" at Sunlit Stage 2

• Find some local love at Sunlit Stage 3 on the 7th with "Artists from around here with BD Willoughby (host, the Lazy MKs, Belle Plaine, Little Miss Higgins, Alexis Normand" starting at 4pm

• Take the kids to dance and improv Saturday afternoon in the Children's Area with FadaDance, Oral Fuentes and Judy&Lucy

• On Sunday dance it up at 2:15pm - 3:00pm  with "Bargain! Shop Panties: Songwriting Secrets with Jolene (host) and Foy (LMH), Leeroy Stagger, Ohbijou, Bette & Wallet"   

• How about some lovely lady sounds at Sunlit Stage 2 from 11:30am - 12:30pm  with "Like honey from her lips: Sweet Vocal Styles with Caracol (host), Belle Plaine, Alexis Normand, Emily Wells"   

• Get inspired with Buffy Sainte-Marie, Arrested Development and Emily Wells at Sunlit Stage 2 from 3:00pm - 4:00pm with a fabulous workshop called "Running free and wild in the heat of the sun: Songs of Freedom"   

• Check out some great concerts all day long at Sunlit Stage 3 with Bette & Wallet, Hot Club Edmonton and Belle Plaine to name a few
